Samantha Brown x DSW Runway Redone
Samantha Brown styled DSW’s Runway Redone for New York Fashion Week. In partnership with Create and Cultivate, DSW cast 20 women from across the country to model the Fall collection and be featured in the Fall campaign.
Redefining the Runway Experience
In a groundbreaking collaboration, celebrity stylist Samantha Brown partnered with DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) and Create & Cultivate for the “Runway Redone: Boots for All” campaign in Fall 2019. This wasn’t just another fashion show – it was a celebration of real women and authentic style that challenged traditional runway norms.
A Platform for Every Woman
The campaign opened with an inclusive digital casting call from July 17 to July 31, 2019, inviting women of all backgrounds to strut their stuff on a New York City runway. Alongside body activist and model Hunter McGrady, the team created a space where diversity wasn’t just welcomed – it was celebrated.
Brown’s Role: Style With Purpose
As the lead stylist, Brown worked directly with runway participants, leading style workshops that went beyond just fashion. The focus was on building confidence, expressing individuality, and finding personal style that resonates. Each participant received personalized styling sessions, transforming DSW’s Fall boot collection into uniquely personal statements.
Impact Beyond the Catwalk
This wasn’t just about shoes – it was about shifting the fashion narrative. Through DSW’s Fall marketing campaign, the collaboration showcased real women wearing real style, proving that fashion belongs to everyone. The workshops and runway show demonstrated that great style isn’t about fitting a mold – it’s about breaking it.
A New Fashion Future
The Runway Redone campaign marked a significant moment in fashion’s evolution toward inclusivity. By combining accessible fashion with authentic representation, the initiative proved that runway style isn’t just for models – it’s for every woman who wants to express herself through fashion.
