Define and Refine Your Style
It’s time to get it together.
It’s finally warming up, which means that it’s time to get outside (in public, yes) and put away the sweatsuits for a while. I don’t know about you, but this changing season is giving me a healthy dose of fashion optimism and it’s time to get dressed again.
I know you’ve all edited your own closets, right? Well, now that our spring cleaning is taken care of, it’s time to assess our style going forward.
Step One: Take the items that trip you up while getting dressed and style them three different ways. Lay out the outfits and snap a photo for later reference. I recommend creating an album in your phone full of outfit ideas so you’re never stuck in a bind wondering “What do I wear?!”
Step Two: Make a list of missing pieces. If you can’t restyle what you currently have, it’s likely because you’re missing the basics. Start a list, so that you shop with purpose and avoid the traps of impulsive buying.
Step Three: Search Pinterest for ideas whenever you’re stuck on how to style a certain item. Typing in “sequin skirt” or “bomber jacket” will produce dozens of easily imitable ideas.
Last Step: Give me a call if you’re stuck. I’m here to help, and we can do this all digitally.
